Here is an interesting way of developing perfect pitch which I have discovered by accident. I have been practising improvising over Flying in a blue dream by Joe Satriani, which I shall be posting soon, by the way, but an unintended consequence of that is now I can hear the note of C when I am quiet.
The piece starts with a drone on C in different octaves using feedback and lasts for about 30 seconds before the band kicks in. So try it, if you want perfect pitch. Start your daily practise with a drone note and sing it, play it or whatever but do it every day for a couple of months and hey presto, perfect pitch is yours.
